A Four-Way in the Garden

Not often one types a post title like that..

The set up:

I’m holding the camera, pictured are Zzzzzz, Microgod and Jim (the blogless)

Zzzzzz playing the insidious forces of chaos, Mocrogod with his Tau and Jim with the Eldar. leaving me with the forces of the Imperium.

I crated an outline, and briefings for us all so that the game has objectives and a story beyond “kill each other”

game tomorrow-1 game tomorrow-2

The outlines of the backstory and how each game was to play out.

game tomorrow-3 game tomorrow-4 game tomorrow-5 game tomorrow-6

And each sides briefing, Images used without permission,.

The game went well and I learned a lot, specifically that with this many players the best way to go is to keep the sides small. I should have learned this from Zzzzz’s game the other week, as it flowed really well and players were seldom bored, and the same was true of the 500pt portion of this, but once the game went up to 1500 additional points per side, it did slow down significantly.

I wont bore you with a blow by blow batrep, suffice to say the Imperium ran into the forces of chaos and got bogged down by each other, the Tau taking pot-shots at the interlopers, presumably unable to tell the difference between the corrupted cultists and the Imperial guard. meanwhile the Eldar kept their lines solid and their forces safe by shooting anything in sight.

Ultimately the Eldar prevailed by not getting drawn into a protracted fight and managing to make off with their objective. the Tau find their planet is now busier than it was before, the Imperium of man has no clue what is happening but that everyone is shooting at them and there are cultists having a “rave” of some sort in their outpost, and the forces of chaos themselves are disordered, confused and bloodthirsty. so no change there then :)

all in all it was great fun, and I shall now bombard you with images,.

  1. "Can you hear the voices too ?!"

It was awful ! Especially the sausages. When's the next one ? If my speeder squadron had started by melta-ing the prisms instead of flaming the rangers, it could have been a very different outcome.

    1. Indeed, prisms are now a high priority target.

especially if they look like wave serpents.
