I finally finished Mr Zzzzzz’s titan, and here it is:
This is a very picture heavy post, there may even be video. you have been warned.
Mr Zzzzzzz liked the Lucius warhound, but wanted a chaos beast, so that’s where I came in, I’ve tried to (over the prolonged period I have had the beast and been procrastinating) have an almost narrative painting experience and work out what happened to this thing, to turn it so.
In the end between us we arrived at a point where the titan had been left behind after a campaign being badly damaged, and the inhabitants of the world had venerated it, attempted repairs and eventually begun ritualising and been bringing offerings too it, all the while the populace are falling to worship if Khorne, and so thier rituals become tainted, and they add things like the grisly trophy racks, and the chaos star on the carapace, until eventually a Demon moves in. this has happened, but it has not yet totally currupted the engine into a living shell. it’s on it’s way though.
Hopefully the modelling and painting job goes some way to suggesting that journey, or if not, just looks cool enough that it doesnt matter :)
Lots of HiRes and turnaround pics below. the colour is a little off, as these were taken before the mattecoat, which has taken the shine off and allowed the richness of the colours to be seen, I’m basically just not geared up light wise to photograph something so large.
Lovely work! Really like the star on the top of the carapace!
ReplyDeleteThanks man, plasticard and Greenstuff FTW!
DeleteThat's fantastic, and the blocky nature of that pattern warhound really lends itself to chaos-ification.
ReplyDeleteGreat work on the basing too, loads of little details really give it some presence.
Thanks Andrew, the initial enthusiasm for the project was fuelled by the opportunities this less-often-seen Titan hull offered.. Glad it paid off
DeleteThanks Muppet, theres a post coming up soon with a bit of a "how I did " that.
ReplyDeleteThis is brilliant! Love e use of terrain to give this model a sense is scale. I'll use the same for my Revenant titan
